Focused on functionality and behavior mirroring of the stationary device. Adapted menu structure of the device to maintain consistency of user experience, thereby eased user's knowledge transfer when switching from large-screen monitor to the handheld device's smaller screen. ARTiSTE Linear Accelerator - New Handheld Device for Radiation Therapy The ARTiSTE Linear Accelerator provides a broad portfolio of software and hardware tools for fast and precise conventional radiation therapy. In close collaboration with Siemens Medical Marketing and external product development partners, the project goals was to improve the usability and safety of the hand control for ARTiSTE. Observed and interviewed users extensively, optimized their workflow, and iterated the hardware and UI design. The delivered UI specification of the easy to use, intuitive yet safe handheld device provided the base for future product development. |

Head mounted display with input device The development of micro displays offered virtual projections for information & communication system for location based services. This study for a mobile headset with a novel input device focused on the usability and the interaction with the system while moving in virtual and real environments. Designed over 10 years prior to the advent of head mounted display devices such as Google Glass, this patented input device offered an intuitive interaction and precise navigation with the projected user interface. Context sensitive menu structures for suitable applications and narrative elements with a clear call for action supported the user’s cognitive processes while maneuvering through two environments. |

Blood pressure measurement instrument for home use Early diagnosis of blood vessel diseases like heart disease and ischaemia needs close interaction between the doctor and the patient. The designed product is nonrestrictive, light-weight, and equipped with internal data storage to provide the doctor with the necessary information over a longer time duration (e.g. 24 hours for 3 days). The simplistic design of the instrument comprised an assembly of a pressure sleeve, ergonomically shaped measurement clip and a non-intrusive patient protocol clip for storing measurement results. |
